Growing up on the border of Nebraska and Kansas, I learned to appreciate the lifestyle of work ethic and determination that the people in the community lived honorably.  However, in recent years, I have seen the fading lifestyle of small family farms and ranches struggling to make ends meet, by photographing the decay and fading of small farms and ranches.

With this body of work, I show my community, friends, and family going through these struggles. This work was inspired by a song with the same title, “Keep The Wolves Away” by Uncle Lucius. Danny Wilcox Frazier and Matt Black are also to be credited for inspiration on technique and style that I used to capture and display my work. I aim to show this lifestyle with honor and respect, because it deserves recognition.
