Augustus Howard is from Bremen, Kansas. He received his bachelor’s in fine arts from Kansas State University. His work focuses on documenting the Midwest farming and ranching lifestyle and how agriculture affects the communities that depend on it to live. He uses black-and-white digital photography to show his subjects.
Augustus has worked on two projects that have been supervised by Shree Joglekar since 2024. The Cancer Research project is looking into the rates of cancer in three Kansas counties: Lincoln, Ellsworth, and Russell. The second project is paying homage to Gordon Parks and his time in Fort Scott, Kansas, Titled Back to Fort Scott.
